Course information.
High Peak Courses, with over 40 years of engineering experience, offers niche courses giving you skills and knowledge that the engineering sector is looking for.
If you are a student please note that earning a degree does not guarantee you a job. It’s a tough market. The hardest job for a graduate is to find a job. So what can you do to stand out from the rest of the engineering applicants. The answer is to seek the knowledge and get that on your cv.
If you are a practicing engineer then you might see the courses I offer, cover the initial design and analysis for structural composites that can be applied across all industries.
Some courses are specialised, unique and of high value such as;
- the structural certification of aircraft composite interiors
- the design and analysis of self-piercing rivet aluminium joints for the automotive industry.
Lightweighting by using design techniques that dramatically reduce or eliminate the effects of stress concentrations. Such techniques opens up numerous opportunities for increased payload, increased access, more footspace, more car door space (B-post top & base reduction), significantly reduce weight, reduced emissions and increase life of the product or its structural integrity.
For the design and analysis of self-piercing rivet joints for the automotive industry, back in 1999, I was a consultant for Jaguar cars.
I developed the analytical methodology, based on aircraft joint fasteners, the formulas for predicting the strength and stiffness performance of self-piercing rivet (SPR) joints and with SPR joints combined with adhesive. I worked together with Dr. Sumanjit Singh who was a pioneer in the design for manufacture of these SPR rivets. I have held courses for engineers who work for the car companies in the UK and have provided them the methods that I developed, my approach and formulas which are now used today by the automotive industry.
